I would like to tell you, that we are really happy with the software, we are trying to stimate and correlate the organs doses using the software of a trial sample of 300 pediatric patients (using his parameters and doses reports given by the CT) with the SNR function, nevertheless we are stuck with the GUI parameter TCM, we have here in the clinic Siemens CT´s , and in the CT´s configurations we can see that there are 5 levels of TCM (Very weak, weak, average, high and very high) and additionally we have the option of disable the TCM ( in siemens will be no Care Dose activated) let's called: "No TCM level" and in the software GUI we see that there are 5 levels (0,0.25,0.50,0.75 and 1), our question is: ¿at which level each one corresponds to?, 0->No TCM or 0->very weak , 0.25-> very weak or 0.25 weak, 0.5-> average,... because as you can tell in siemens there are actually 6 levels; 5 levels of TCM and no TCM as well, and in the GUI software there are only 5 levels.
NCI Dose Team response
The TCM feature built in NCICT is not specific to a certain manufacturer, which means the TCM strength in NCICT would not one-to-one match the strength of the Siemens scanners. The feature actually needs to be calibrated by users using their TCM scans before applying to other scans. We're currently working on a procedure to do this and plan to publish soon. Will keep you posted on the progress.
