Organ and vertebrae location on each phantom

To clarify: by “anatomical landmarks,” do you mean distances from a reference point (e.g., top of the head) within the phantom coordinate system? And by “each adult phantom,” are you referring to the full size-dependent adult phantom library?

Are you looking for:

  • Locations of all organ and vertebrae tags, or
  • Key landmarks used to define major CT scan coverage (e.g., clavicle, mid-liver for chest scan)?

Some of these landmark positions can be inferred directly from the NCICT GUI, where the scan start and end locations are displayed as you adjust the scan range on the phantom diagrams. If you require a more comprehensive list of organ and tissue locations, these can be derived by processing the original voxel phantoms available through the secure NCI Dose Tools User Portal.

Thank you for your response. exactly, I meant "distances from a reference point". The distance from reference point for each phantom height is different, and I am not sure about selecting them on the GUI. The version I have does not have the full version of voxel phantoms. thank you

Thank you for the clarification.

Please find this file anatomical_landmark_ncict.xlsx, which includes the anatomical landmarks and their distances from the top of the phantoms at various heights. The file also provides the corresponding anatomical landmarks for major scan protocols.

Currently, the feature that allows users to define anatomical landmark IDs (1001 - 1010) for scan protocols is available only in the NCICT API. This functionality will be incorporated into the batch module in a future release of GUI version.

In addition, locations of other organs can be derived from the full size-dependent phantom library available through the secure NCI Dose Tools User Portal for approved users: https://portal.ncidosetools.com
