Is there a way to customize beam quality parameters, such as kVp and filtration, within NCIRF? In some cases, the available beam-quality presets may not adequately represent the clinical exposure conditions, and it would be helpful to know whether user-defined beam spectra and filtration settings can be incorporated.

NCI Dose Team response

At the moment, NCIRF does not support direct user customization of beam quality parameters such as kVp, filtration, or user-defined x-ray spectra beyond the available beam-quality presets.

However, we recognize that the preset beam qualities may not always adequately represent specific clinical exposure conditions. We are planning to add a feature in the next version of NCIRF that will allow users to incorporate custom x-ray spectra, including user-defined filtration settings.
